Tone Wrap uses a multi-layer acoustic design to reduce compressor hum, buzzing, and droning. Every Tone Wrap includes acoustic seam tape to help close gaps and improve sound reduction.
Instead of relying on insulation alone, Tone Wrap combines sound-absorbing insulation with a dense acoustic barrier. The insulation absorbs sound energy near the compressor, while the heavier outer layer helps prevent that sound from escaping.
Acoustic seam tape is included with every Tone Wrap. Sealing the seams and small openings creates a more continuous acoustic barrier and helps the blanket deliver its best compressor-noise reduction.
For even better sealing, the Tone Wrap Premium Kit includes additional acoustic tape and an exterior compression strap. The strap holds the blanket more tightly around the compressor and can provide additional noise reduction.

How an AC Sound Blanket Reduces Compressor Noise
When choosing an AC sound blanket or heat pump blanket, effective compressor noise reduction comes from combining sound absorption with a dense acoustic barrier.
Sound Blocking
A dense acoustic layer helps reduce the amount of compressor noise transmitted through the blanket. More mass generally helps reduce the transmission of airborne sound, making it more difficult for compressor noise to escape.
Sound Absorption
Sound-absorbing insulation helps reduce vibration and absorbs some of the sound energy generated inside the blanket before it reaches the outer acoustic layer.
